Registrations for Amarnath Yatra 2014 Starts from Today, March 1

As per the official spokesman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the registration process for this year’s Amarnath Yatra commences from today, i.e. March 1. The Amarnath Yatra will start from June 28 and lasts up to August 10. The forms for both, the Baltal and Chandanwari routes through 425 designated Bank Branches.

He further added that various decisions associated to the Yatra were taken yesterday in a review meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra. The Board members decided that the registration process should start even earlier for Yatra 2014, as it started in 2013 on March 18.amarnath-yatra

Navin K Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer further explained that it is necessary for the applicant to register themselves on Registration Counters, situated all across the country through 425 designated Branches of J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank and YES Bank, spread over all the States/ UTs. This year’s Amarnath Yatra will start simultaneously, along both the Chandanwari and Baltal routes, on June 28 and close on Raksha Bandhan, i.e. August 10. The CEO of the Shrine Board also said that the applicant needs to submit Compulsory Health Certificate while in search of registration for Yatra. The format of the Compulsory Health Certificate has been already circulated by the Union Health Ministry and the J&K State Health Department to all States/ UTs. He later informed that the making sure the use of fraudulent Health Certificates, only such a Health Certificate, which has been issued by a Doctor or Medical Institute, authorized by the concerned State Government / UT Administration will be applied for registration. He also informed that all States/ UTs have been asked to furnish lists of Doctors / Medical Institutes, who would be authorized to issue the ‘Compulsory Health Certificates’ to the eligible Yatris in their respective States/ UTs. The lists of Doctors / Medical Institutes from the States/ UTs will be made available on the website as soon as these are received. Later, he added that for Yatra 2014, Health Certificates issued after 1st February, 2014 will be valid.

The registration is to be done on ‘First-Come-First-Serve Basis’, therefore, devotees seeking to go for Yatra 2014 are advised to submit the forms and formalities as soon as possible and obtain the Yatra Permit.
